Habbiel
A Monday angel of the first heaven. An angel who is appealed to for loyal love and romance, invoked in love charms.

Hadakiel
He governs the sign of Libra.

Hafaza
There are four of these angels. They are to protect men from jinn, men and Satan. It is there job to write down the actions of mortals.

Hahahel
(Hahael) Angel of the order of Virtues. Hahael protects missionaries and all disciples. He is also one of the 72 angels bearing the mystical name of the God Shemhamoresh. His corresponding angel is Chan-tare`, who’s description only states that he is the corresponding angel to Hahahel (Hahael).

Hahaiah
An angel of the order of Cheri-bum. He influences thoughts and reveals hidden mysteries to mortals.

Hakamiah
One of the cherubim (invoked against traitors) and a guardian of France.

Hakem
An angelic guard stationed at the fourth heavenly hall.

Halliza
The name of the angel appearing on the eternal circle of the pentagram of Solomon.

Haludiel
An angel of the 4th heaven invoked on the Lord’s Day, with the invocant facing south. Haludiel is also an intelligence of the sun.

Ham
Meyuchad An angel of the order of Cheribum.

Hamal
An angel with dominion over water. Hamal is invoked in Arabic incantation rites.

Hamaliel
Angel of the month of August, one of the rulers of the orders of virtues, and governor of the zodiacal sign of Virgo.

Hamatiel
Zodiacal angel governing the sign of Virgo.

Hamied
(Miracles) The glorious angel of miracles. He is such a dazzling white that you can only see his incredible eyes shining through. As you feel his presence enfold you, open your heart to receive his gift of intense love.

Hananiel
(Graciously Given of God) An archangel whose name appears inscribed on a pentagram. He’el (“life of God”) An angel leader. A ruler of the seasons of the year.

Haniel
(Anael) Chief of the orders of principalities and virtues; one of the 7 archangels; governor of December, all powers of love, reputed to have transported Enoch to heaven.

Hannuel
An angel who has dominion over the sign of Capricorn.

Harabael
An angel with dominion over the earth.

Harahel
This radiant one protects libraries, archives, schools and universities. Harahel opens our minds and hearts to new ideas while inspiring humankind to use this knowledge in life-affirming ways.

Harudha
A female (energy) angel who rules the element of water.

Harviel
An angelic guard stationed at the second heavenly hall.

Hasmed
Angel of annihilation and one of the five angels of punishment that Moses encountered in heaven.

Hayyel
Teaches humankind that just as the angels protect us, so were we created to protect nature. Pray to this angel to inspire humans to become the stewards of all nature that we are meant to be.

Heiglot
An angel of snow storms. Ruler of the first hour.

Helemmelek
An angel governing one of the seasons. The name is said to be an inversion of Milkiel.

Helison
One of the five angels of the first altitude. The other four being Alimiel, Gabriel, Barachiel and Lebes. When invoked Helison appears carrying a banner adorned with crimson cross, crowned with roses.

Hngel
Angel of the summer equinox and effective against the evil eye.

Hormuz
An angel in charge of the first day of the month.

Humastrav
A Monday angel, invoked from the north. Humastrav is said to reside in the first heaven.

Husael
An angel serving in the third heaven.

Hypezokos
(Flower Of Fire) One of the “effiable, essential and elemental orders” in the Chaldean cosmological scheme.

Hyperachii
A group of archangels that guide the universe.

List of Angelic (G) Beings

Gabriel(God is my strength)

One of the two highest ranking angels. He is the angel of mercy, annunciation, dreams, aspirations, bringer of news, maker of changes, resurrection, vengeance, death and revelation. He presides over paradise and is the ruling angel of the first heaven. This archangel is a primary messenger of God, bringing divine announcements and revelations to humankind, acting as an intermediary between heaven and earth and helping us to interpret our dreams and our visions. Gabriel grants wishes and hopes to mortals, as well as joy, mercy, understanding of mysteries, truth, justice, miracles and love. Angel of January. In ancient Persian lore the angel Bahman. Essene prayer: “Gabriel, Angel of Life, enter my limbs and give strength to my whole body”.

Galgaliel
Eponymous head of the order of galgalim (chariots of the Merkabah); chief angel of the wheel of the moon.

Galmon
An angelic guard stationed at the fourth heavenly hall.

Gamiel
Supreme ruling angel of the first hour of the night.

Gargatel
One of the three angel’s of summer. He acts in association with Tariel and Gaviek.

Gazardiel
An angel who holds dominion over the rising sun, we pray to this illuminated one for the promise of new beginnings, innocence, renewal, awakening and enlightenment. Face the rising sun in the morning and pray to this angel for these spirit gifts and attributes. He is a chief angelic supervisor of the east. He “kisses the prayers of the faithful and conveys them to the supernatural firmament” as related in The Zohar. He is also an angel charged with the rising and setting of the sun.

Gedariah
A supervising chief angel of the third heaven. He ministers three times a day; he bows to prayers ascending from the second heaven, crowns such prayers, then transmits them for further ascent.

Geliel
One of the 28 angels governing the 28 mansions of the moon.

Geno
An angel of the order of powers.

Germael(Majesty of God)

An angel sent by God to create Adam from dust. A mission also ascribed to Gabriel.

Gethel
An angel set over hidden things.

Ghedoriah
Changes A Bad Personality to Good.

Giel
The angel with dominion over the zodiac sign Gemini.

Gmial
One of the 64 wardens of the seven celestial halls.

Gonael

One of the numerous guards of the gates of the North Wind.

Gotzone Basque
Angel, messenger.

Gradiel
(Might of God) The angel of the planet Mars when this luminary enters the sign of Aries and Scorpio.

Grasgarben
He governs the sign of Libra.

Gurid A summer equinox angel. Effective when invoked as an amulet against the evil eye.

  • 384-322 B.C.EAristotle .: Metaphysics, De Anima, Nicomachean Ethics. While Aristotle himself is not really considered to be a mystic, he is an important influence on later mystics, especially when combined with Plato by Plotinus, and also when Christianized in the high Middle Ages.
  • 20 B.C.E.-c.41 C.E.Philo : The Contemplative Life. An Alexandrian Jew who drew from Platonist tradition, Stoicism, and neo-Pythagoreanism to create a fusion of the active or virtuous life and the contemplative life.
  • 205-270 C.E.Plotinus : Enneads. The non-Christian, neo-Platonic basis for much Christian, Jewish, and Islamic mysticism. Influences: Plato, Aristotle.
  • 232-304 C.E. PorphyryIsagoge. Compiled Plotinus’ Enneads, and wrote a life of Plotinus. He was strongly anti-Christian, yet he became important in the history of Christian mysticism.
  • 411-485 C.E. Proclusor Proclusthe Lycian : Neoplatonic philosopher was born. The Elements of Theology. Athenian Neo-platonist, who influenced Pseudo-Dionysius, and beyond him most of the mystical tradition.

Home superstitions

  • All locks in a house are unlocked at birthing to ensure an easy delivery.
  • Scatter Solomon’s seal on the floor to banish serpents and venomous creatures from the room.
  • To protect your house from lightning, gather hazel tree branches on Palm Sunday and keep them in water.
  • Add caraway seeds to chicken feed to keep poultry from wandering.
  • Feed the seeds to homing pigeons to help them find their way back.
  • Stuff fennel in your keyhole or hang it over your door to protect against witches.
  • Never carry a hoe into the house. If you do so by mistake, carry it out again, walking backward to avoid bad luck. Never walk under a ladder, which is Satan’s territory. If you must do it, cross your fingers or make the sign of the fig (closed fist, with thumb between index and middle fingers).
  • If you give a steel blade to a friend, make the recipient pay you a penny to avoid cutting the friendship.
  • Never give a knife as a housewarming present, or your new neighbor will become an enemy.
  • Never pound a nail after sundown, or you will wake the tree gods.
  • Nail an evergreen branch to new rafters to bring good luck.
  • An empty hornets’ nest, hung high, also will bring good luck to any age house.
  • When you move to a new house, always enter first with a loaf of bread and a new broom.
  • Never bring an old broom into the house.

Your Hair superstitions

  • If you don’t cover your bald head it will start raining.
  • If you shave your head on a Saturday, you will be in perpetual debt
  • You shouldn’t wash your hair the day before an exam.
  • Hair at no age must be cut at the waning of the moon, which would prevent it growing luxuriantly.
  • Hair cut off should always be burned; it unlucky to throw shorn hair away; otherwise, birds might make a nest of your hair, weaving tightly, so that you would have difficulty rising on your last day.
  • Choosing to cut your hair (or nails) on a particular day means the following: Cut them on Monday, you cut them for health; cut them on Tuesday, you cut them for wealth; cut them on Wednesday, you cut them for news; cut them on Thursday, a new pair of shoes; cut them on Friday, you cut them for sorrow; cut them on Saturday, see your true love tomorrow; cut them on Sunday, the devil will be with you all the week.
